Equestrian Gamesmakers Honoured at AHT Awards

Sarah Phillips, Senior Executive of British Riding Clubs, was presented with the South Essex Insurance Brokers Voluntary Service Award on behalf of all Olympic Gamesmakers at the Animal Health Trust Equestrian Awards, held at The Lancaster London Hotel on 1 November.

The award was made to honour all the Olympic Gamesmakers who dedicated their free time to making the Olympic and Paralympic games such a successful and inspiring event. Sarah said: “It was a huge honour to be

able to accept the award on behalf of the equestrian Gamesmakers who were involved at London 2012. We all know how much volunteers put into our sport and it is wonderful that the commitment of these people has been recognised in such a way”.

British Riding Clubs also saw one of their longstanding volunteers, Rosemary Batten, honoured as an Olympic Gamesmaker. Rosemary said: “This was such a brilliant evening and I felt honoured to be invited to ra fast the dinner and

awards evening. The icing on the cake was to be invited on to the stage along with Sarah and the others to receive the award. To be honoured alongside our gold medallists from the 2012 Olympics was reward in itself.”
