Taunton Horse Show
Once again BRC Area 12 will be running the Taunton Horse Show at the Taunton Racecourse on 12th and 13th June. Alongside the Area 12 championships and national qualifiers there is a host of unaffiliated classes and something for all. For further details please visit www.tauntonhorseshow.co.uk.
RWHS 2011
Following the success of this year’s RWHS and the publicity generated regarding the prize for this competition there is a definite increase in interest. Subsequently it has been agreed that the format of this competition will remain the same ie round 1 at club level, round 2 at area level and rounds 3 and 4 at RWHS. Maybe it has taken a while for clubs to get used to the format or maybe the prize has proved influential but it is certainly becoming more popular.
Please note rules are in the 2010 rule book including the riding tests to be used.
If your club will be running a qualifier then please let us know.
Passports
There has been a recent incident whereby a competitor was stopped by Trading Standards and had a horse passport check. The passport did not have Section 9 completed (Medicinal Treatment - slaughter for human consumption or not), and the competitor received an official caution.
Here is a simple checklist of the sections that Trading Standards Officers check:
- Name of horse is shown together with colour and sex
- Name, address and signature of current owner
- Completed certificate in Medicinal Treatment concerning "slaughter for human consumption or not", plus if any treatments have been given that the vet has completed the section fully
- Drawing and description of horse signed by a competent authority or vet plus vets stamp
Club Membership
If your club submits membership lists via an excel spreadsheet a discount of 25p per member can be obtained on affiliation fees.
